Florida home and flood insurer Orion180 files for $340M IPO
Orion180 Insurance Group, a specialty homeowners and flood carrier based in Melbourne, Florida, filed to go public on the Nasdaq under the ticker OIG. It plans to sell 20 million shares at $15 to $17 each, raising as much as $340 million. The filing shows $601 million in direct written premium for the 12 months ended June 30, and net income of $13.2 million on $80.1 million of revenue in the first half of 2026. A year earlier the company reported a $3 million loss.
A Florida carrier raising that kind of money is a market signal worth reading. Insurers go to public investors when they plan to write more business, and writing more business here means quoting more Florida homes. That is the reverse of 2022, when carriers were dropping policies and homeowners were landing in Citizens by default. If your home was non-renewed in the last few years, or you took the only quote you could get at the time, the list of carriers willing to look at your address is longer now. Flood is the piece most people skip. Orion180 writes it alongside homeowners, and private flood has become a real alternative to NFIP on many Florida properties, so price both.
An independent agent can quote your home across the carriers competing for Florida business right now and put private flood next to NFIP on the same page.
